Our mission is to provide a safe environment to teach the fundamentals of all-star cheerleading, tumble/gymnastics, healthy eating, and physical activity with an emphasis on establishing memories that will last a lifetime, creating and maintaining positive relationships, building friendships, enforcing safety, fostering a family atmosphere, and encouraging all athletes to always do their personal best.
As early as elementary school, Kimetria Parks knew she wanted to cheer. Growing up in Holly Springs, Mississippi, there weren’t many activities available that appealed to the “girly girl.”
Basketball, which most of the other kids in her family and church opted for, was never an aspiration for her. Instead, she looked forward to the day when she would become a 5th grader and could finally join her school’s cheer team. When that moment finally happened, her love for cheer was instantly solidified.
From 5th grade through her senior year, Parks cheered. She loved it so much that, after her high school graduation, she took a leap of faith and signed-up to audition for the Tennessee Titan’s cheer team. There, she witnessed the athleticism and rigor of a professional cheer team for the first-time. While the audition didn’t go as planned, the experience exposed her to a completely different perspective.
Deciding to pursue a different avenue, Parks earned a scholarship to attend Northwest Community College, where she was member of the Rangerette dance team for two years. This too broadened her horizons as the group specialized in pom and jazz dance.
By the time she attended Delta State University in 1999, her love for dance had grown. A new pom dance group caught Parks’ attention, and she eagerly joined. Parks looked forward to their performances during basketball games and other campus events. After the coach resigned, the group dismantled, and Parks turned her attention to finishing school. However, her passion for cheer and dance never waned.
As she began to build a career, Parks longed to return to her first love—cheer. When she learned about a cheer coach opportunity at Eastside High School in Cleveland, MS, she knew it would be perfect for her. She never anticipated the sense of fulfillment and overwhelming support the job would bring.
Noticing the community’s desire for more recreational activities for youth, coupled with the lack of opportunities available for her own daughter, Parks and her husband, Chris, decided to open Spirit Xplosion Home of CE All Stars in 2012. Since then, the organization’s competitive cheer team, CE All Stars, has placed in numerous regional and national competitions under her leadership.
In addition to teaching students the fundamentals of cheer and dance, Parks also strives to instill discipline, sportsmanship, sisterhood/brotherhood and a strong work ethic. She looks forward to expanding and continuing to share her passion for cheer and dance with others. Spirit Xplosion Home of CE All Stars is locally owned by Kimetria and Christopher Parks.
